In 2012, Spectrum is offering a number of professional development initiatives, including workshops on:
- using Acceptence and Commitment Therapy in mental health
- workshops specifically for Psychiatrists and registrars
- client centred secondary consultation
- workshop for family members with BPD
- a 5 session clinical seminar series on working with BPD
- a fortnightly supervision group running throughout the year
- a new workshop on being therapeutic when not in a therapy role
- understanding and treating self-harm
Note: Professional development workshops are primarily provided for clinicians who work in DHS Area Mental Health Services (adult & CAMHS). Others service sector clinicians (private clinicians, NGOs, support services, etc) are welcome to register their interest but there is an increased cost as well as a wait list. If spaces are available attendees will be notified two to four weeks before the event start date.
To register for a workshop, please download the Registration Form and send to Spectrum
Specific requests for training
Spectrum is able to respond to requests from area mental health services staff to provide specially tailored training events that meet a local need. This training can be delivered locally.
Spectrum has a limited capacity to respond to training requests from non-area mental health services. If we are not able to respond, we may be able to offer suggestions.
