Who can attend the workshops?
Professional development workshops are primarily provided for clinicians who work in state funded Department of Health Area Mental Health Services (Adult & CAMHS). Clinicians from these services will be prioritised in the registration process.
However, Spectrum welcomes participants from a variety of professional backgrounds including service sector staff such as private clinicians, PDRS, NGOs and support services.

Requests for specific training (AMHS)
Spectrum is able to respond to requests from area mental health services staff to provide specially tailored training events that meet a local need. This training can be delivered locally.
This can include requests for professional development workshops to be offered to CAT, IPU, CCU and SECU teams. The content can be developed and targeted to meet particular requirements. The workshops may feature theoretical, practical and experiential components.
Topics may include:
- How to assess and manage self-harm and risk
- How to engage with clients
- How to work with the interpersonal issues between a client with BPD and other clients
- How to deal with team issues amongst staff
Requests for specific training (Non-AMHS)
Spectrum has a limited capacity to respond to training requests from non-area mental health services. If we are not able to respond, we may be able to offer suggestions.
