This workshop will present ideas on using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with clients diagnosed with BPD. An ACT formulation of BPD will be presented, specific challenges of using ACT with this population discussed and ACT based treatment skills that are used in Spectrum's 'Wise Choices' outpatient group therapy program will be presented. Time will be spent conceptualising the therapeutic alliance through an ACT lens, as such attention will be paid to therapists own processes when working with this population. Participants will be invited to explore these ideas through didactic presentation, experiential learning and group discussion.
