Personality Disorder and Autism Assessment Clinic

Spectrum launched the PAACS clinic in March 2025 offering specialist assessments for those that are experiencing diagnostic complexity at the intersection of Personality Disorder and/or Autism.

This clinic aims to clarify diagnoses for these individuals, with a comprehensive assessment with a Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologist.

The clinic has an experienced Occupational Therapist coordinating, which adds to the multidisciplinary approach to assessment for these individuals.

The PAACS is a pilot project funded by the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing (DFFH). This major project was initiated to identify and support the under-served autistic population who are particularly vulnerable to mental ill-health.

This clinic at Spectrum is in a unique position to explore the diagnostic complexity and intersectionality between borderline personality disorder (BPD) and autism. We aim to also increase understanding of autism within Area Mental Health Services (AMHS).
