Our involvement in BPD Awareness week

Each year Spectrum proudly participates in borderline personality disorder (BPD) Awareness Week in October, standing at the forefront of advocacy for individuals affected by personality disorders and complex trauma.

Through our active involvement, we aim to dismantle stigma, promote equitable access to care, and foster a deeper understanding of these often misunderstood conditions.

Spectrum undertakes activities around BPD Awareness week to help empower all people living with personality disorder and complex trauma. We highlight activities, run specialised workshops and champion equitable access to care and support.

Getting involved with BPD Awareness week

Join us this BPD Awareness Week (October 1–7) by sharing and uploading the rich variety of assets we’ve created including a variety of social media tiles, PowerPoint slide, newsletter template and a poster. All available in our resources hub.

These tools are designed to inform, educate, and inspire. By using these assets, you’ll help break down stigma, build connection, and amplify the message that recovery is not only possible—it’s happening.

Whether you’re a clinician, carer, person with lived experience, or simply someone who cares, your voice matters. Make the difference: download, share, and upload your stories and materials to spark compassionate conversations, raise awareness, and foster hope in your community.

Together, we can see the person behind the diagnosis and truly make an impact.

Resources 2025

We have developed new materials and resources for use in the lead up to and during BPD Awareness Week. These tools are designed to support individuals, families, and professionals in understanding and addressing the challenges associated with BPD.

Events 2025

There are a number of free events taking place during BPD Awareness week suitable for clinicians, consumers and carers. Click on the training link below to find out more information.

In addition, Spectrum is proud to be the major sponsor of the BPD Foundation event taking place in Melbourne, Victoria, on 3 October 2025. As leaders in the field, we’re not only supporting this important event, but also contributing to its program—our Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor, Sathya Rao, OAM, will deliver a keynote session on Suicide Prevention in BPD.
